
Feng Gao
Professor, Linköping University, Sweden
He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics from Nanjing University in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. from the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge in 2011. He then joined Linköping University, Sweden, where he has held successive positions including Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2013), Assistant Professor (2015), Associate Professor (2017), and Professor (2020).
Professor Gao's research interests focus on solution-processable optoelectronic devices and their underlying mechanisms, primarily based on organic and perovskite semiconductor materials. As a corresponding author, he has published his work in prestigious journals such as Science, Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Photonics, Nature Energy, and Nature Electronics.
He has been the recipient of numerous distinguished grants and honors, including:
Future Research Leader funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research
Wallenberg Academy Fellow funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation
ERC Starting Grant (2016) and ERC Consolidator Grant (2021) funded by the European Research Council
In 2020, he was awarded the Tage Erlander Prize by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in recognition of his mechanistic research in the fields of solar cells and light-emitting diodes. He served as a Visiting Professor at the Center of Artificial Photosynthesis forSolar Fuels @Westlake University from August 2023 to September 2024.
