Yu Guo obtained his Ph.D. from Liaoning Normal University in 2017, under the supervision of Professor Yang Zhongzhi.
From 2017 to 2020, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden, with Professor Sun Licheng and Professor Lars Kloo as his collaborating supervisors.
From September 2020 to September 2022, he pursued postdoctoral research at the Center of Artificial Photosynthesis for Solar Fuels@ Westlake University, under the supervision of Professor Sun Licheng as his collaborating supervisor.
From September 2022 to November 2025, he served as an Assistant Researcher at Sun Licheng's Laboratory, Center of Artificial Photosynthesis for Solar Fuels@Westlake University.
